[IMCAS Asia 2026 Special Feature ⑭ | Interview] "The Potential to Go Beyond PDL Is Real — but the Clinical Approach Must Be Rebuilt" … Dr. Sukbae Seo, VASCURA 589 KOL
LASEROPTEK's VASCURA 589 is a dye-free 589 nm solid-state vascular laser. By stacking short subpulses within a longer pulse envelope, it departs from conventional pulsed dye lasers (PDL) in the very way energy is delivered. At the LASEROPTEK Partners Meeting (LPM) held ahead of IMCAS Asia 2026 in Bangkok, we spoke with Dr. Sukbae Seo of SeoAhSong Dermatologic Clinic — a longtime KOL for LASEROPTEK's 785 nm picosecond laser, HELIOS 785 PICO. His assessment is candid and to the point: VASCURA 589 may have the potential to go beyond conventional PDL systems, but because the mechanism is fundamentally different, energy settings and treatment endpoints will need to be redefined from the start. He also weighed in on the clinical questions that remain, where combination strategies integrating pharmacologic agents with energy-based devices are headed, and how K-Medical Aesthetics is perceived on the global stage.
