Hajir Hakim Hashemi, CEO of DermEden: Demonstrating Efficacy in Korean Patients Would Provide the Most Compelling Evidence
French dermocosmetics brand DermEden (DermEden Laboratoires) has begun its entry into the Korean market, naming Primoris International as its local partner. Co-founded 15 years ago by CEO Hajir Hakim Hashemi and Dr. Nicolas Bachot, a Paris-based dermatologist, DermEden focuses on non-invasive care with a particular emphasis on hyperpigmentation. According to the company, its products are now used in more than 5,000 clinics across 40 countries. During his visit to Korea, we sat down with CEO Hajir Hakim Hashemi for an exclusive interview. He praised Korean physicians as "among the best in the world" and explained how the brand's core formulations — built on 5% tranexamic acid (TXA) and 10% niacinamide — can be incorporated into protocols aimed at preventing and managing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Notably, building on data from Japan and other markets, he outlined plans to work with Korean physicians to develop tailored protocols and conduct clinical studies in Korean patients. "Demonstrating efficacy in Korean patients," he said, "would be more compelling than data from any other country."
